Susan River Homestead offers full tourist information and tour booking facilities. We book all tours operating in the area including Fraser Island and Whale Watch. We also have maps of the area, and Fraser Island. If you're taking your own 4WD to Fraser and we can advise you on conditions, permits and camping. See below for more information about tours.

There are a number of ways to get to Fraser Island without taking your own vehicle.

FRASER VENTURE DAY TOURS

1 Day Tour
Tour departs from Mary River Heads to Wangoolba Creek via Fraser Venture barge. Points of interest include Central Station rainforest, Lake Birrabeen, the Cathedrals coloured sands, beach, Eli Creek, perched freshwater lakes Jennings & Birrabeen and the shipwreck Maheno. Buffet lunch, included at Eurong Beach Resort. Return to Fraser Venture & Hervey Bay.

2 Day Tour
Departs Mary River Heads to Wangoolba Creek via Fraser Venture barge. Visit Central Station, Pile Valley, Lake Wabby, Eli Creek, Maheno wreck, Cathedrals, Lake McKenzie. Accommodation & all meals at Eurong Beach Resort

FRASER ISLAND TOP TOURS

One Day Tour
Full day tour to World Heritage listed Fraser Is. Buffet lunch at Fraser Island Retreat, visit Eli Creek, Maheno shipwreck, Yidney rainforest, lakes & coloured sand formations. Commentary from experienced accredited tour guides. 4WD coach. There are also optional joy flights with Air Fraser Island available.

Exclusive Day Tour
A tour for the traveller that prefers smaller more intimate groups. Full day tour to World Heritage listed Fraser Island. Steak & seafood buffet lunch with wine or soft drink at Fraser Island Retreat, visit Eli Creek, Maheno shipwreck, rainforest, lakes & sand formations. Commentary from experienced tour guides. 4WD coach. Optional joy flights with Air Fraser Island.
TOUR GROUP LIMITED TO 14 PERSONS PER TOUR.

Two Day Tour

KINGFISHER BAY RESORT TOURS

RANGER GUIDED DAY TOURS
Departs Hervey Bay Boat Harbour via Fastcat past Woody Is National Park to Kingfisher Bay. Board 4WD coach, visit perched lake, rainforest, Central Station, Wanggoolba Creek. Travel along beach to coloured cliffs of Cathedrals & Maheno wreck. Lunch & morning tea, time to swim & bush walk. Return to Kingfisher, cross to mainland.
Available everyday.

Day Away
Includes: Return catamaran cruise lunch and morning or afternoon tea, ranger guided walk. Departs Urangan Boat Harbour 8.30am and 12 noon. Departs resort 2.00pm and 5.00pm.
Available everyday except Sunday.

Dinner Cruise
Includes: Return Fastcat cruise, seafood buffet dinner in the Maheno Restaurant (all you can eat) or two course set menu in the Seabelle Restaurant. Live entertainment in the Maheno Lounge. Departs Tourist Terminal, Urangan boat Harbour 4.00pm and 7.00pm. Departs Resort: 8.00pm and 11.30pm.

Sundays at the Sandbar
Includes: Return catamaran cruise, spit roast and salad bar (all you can eat). Departs Urangan Boat Harbour 8.30am and 12 noon. Departs resort 2.00pm and 5.00pm.

WHALE WATCH TOURS

If you plan on coming to Hervey Bay anytime during August to October, a tour out to see the magnificant Humpback Whales at play in Hervey Bay is an experience not to be missed. Watching these 40 tonne animals play is a truly amazing sight.

CORAL VIEWING

Krystal Klear - Glass Bottom Boat
