About Us

We thought you might like to know a little about Susan River Homestead and the people that will be looking after you when you decide to holiday with us. Susan River Homestead was built by Norm McLean and his family in 1976. It opened its doors for the first time in 1978. Take a look round the homestead with our virtual reality tour.

The Mcleans are a happy fun loving family with a lust for life and like to have fun where-ever they find it.

Norm McLean

Norman better known as "Norm" head of the McLean family & 5 Sons (in order) Glenn, Cameron,Scott,Travis, Guy & Daughter Skye.

"I would love you to come and join my family and holiday at Susan River Homestead"

The McLeans treat everyone as part of a very large extended family starting with the employees Carol, Darren & Kellie right thru to guests that have returned to SRH and become friends and from friends now hold the title of the McLeans extended family.

Two of Norm's sons still work on the Homestead

Travis
works in an around the homestead taking people for horserides and water-skiing. He has a real zest for Aussie Rules football and adventure in any form. He is continually surprising both the guests and the staff (not to mention his dad!) with his next big thing - currently a light aircraft (need we say more)

Cameron
the quiet achiever with a wicked sense of humor and a smile permanently on his dial. His family, Michelle his wife and Abby-Kate a precious three year old with all the best McLean traits to call her own and not to forget to the third generation McLean, Nicholas who has the infamous McLean smile to guide him thru life

Norm's other children still visit from time to time

Guy
Current Aust Bush Poet Champ & Leading Horse Educator - Most wouldn't beleive his horse "Nuggett" is a stallion. The bond is so strong between the two Guys uses neither a Saddle or Bridle when perfoming with Nuggett a truly marvelous sight and a wonderful experience.

Glenn
traveller extraodinaire who's always on the lookout for fun, quick witted and loves to laugh. He is also very camera shy. We took this one when he wasn't looking while he was working in the kitchen.

Scott
worked at the SRH for six years until he joined the Movie world crew in the "wild west show". He now appears in commercials and is also a fully qualified stuntman in Sydney - watch for him on your tv.

Skye
the baby of the family and the perennial traveller who loves to come home to enjoy the family and the Homestead
